Transforming Fantasyland part 2
The Fantasyland Storybook Circus with its colourful big top tents should now be open. When we were there Dumbo the Flying Elephant was just opening and since then Barnstormer and the new water attraction Casey’s Splash and Soak have opened.
After looking at all the future attractions for Fantasyland we went to Storybook Treats to get our ice creams before going to Winnie the Pooh as it was our Fastpass return time. Although this is really for younger ones we like this slow moving ride where the four of us can sit in one car in Pooh’s Honey Pot. When we left here we spent sometime in the 100 Acres Wood Toy Shop where one of the girls eventually decided that Tigger must come home with us!
As we had heard that Snow Whites ride was closing to make way for the Fairytale Princess Hall we decided we could not visit Fantasyland without riding on it one last time. It was very busy with a wait time of forty minutes perhaps everyone else had the same idea but undaunted we joined the queue and as ever enjoyed this ride. We then waited patiently as the girls went to Castle Couture but for once they came out without buying anything!
We were now getting hungry having only had a light breakfast so we decided to eat at the quick service Village Haus with its spacious outdoor dining section. Between us we had Caesar Salad, Mediterranean Salad, Meatball Sub sandwiches and some fries. The girls also managed some delicious looking Chocolate Cake.
We then decided to go to our all-time favourite Philarmagic again it was very crowded but worth the wait. We never tire of this 3 D show with Donald Duck it is noisy and crazy but great fun. There is a great view of Cinderella’s Castle if you look up over the top of Philarmagic.
The girls now decided that as the carousel was not very busy they would have a quick ride – which turned into two rides!
We had been fortunate to get our second Fastpass for Peter Pan’s Flight as the queues were horrendous when we returned at our allotted time. This is a gentle ride over London and Big Ben which the family always enjoy.
For once only my Dad volunteered to go with my Mother on “It’s a Small World” this is a ride she loves but the rest of us have been of it so many times and find that once you have ridden on it you have the music in your head for the rest of the day!
The girls and I went over to the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party which had lovely topiary characters of Alice and friends outside. We really enjoyed our spinning session in the Cups before meeting up with my parents to return to the villa for a relaxing evening in and out of the pool.
We are looking forward to our next visit to Fantasyland to see the changes.
