Fireworks Desserts Party Pt 1 Planning
Whilst most Walt Disney World dining experiences can be booked up to one hundred and eighty days in advance, there is no fixed time for release of seating for this special dining experience.
We tried several times to secure our reservation but were given various responses such as ' dates are released three months ahead' ' ninety days before desired date' and ' just keep trying' . Having persevered and telephoned at least once a week only to be told that dates had not yet been released , we were extremely frustrated to be told that our desired date was fully booked. Offering a whole choice of dates across a period of almost a month the answer came back the same ' fully booked' .
Not to be deterred we asked how this could be possible when we had been running up a phone bill the like of which was almost equivalent to the Greek national debt! ( ok I' m exaggerating somewhat but you get the gist)
After much ' hang on there one minute' ' let me try something else' and a request for further details the computer finally accepted the operators request and lo and behold our first choice of dates was suddenly available!
The moral of this story is if at first you do not succeed try, try and try again!
Our booking was secured by credit card and the cost was just short of $60 for the two of us ( June 2012 prices). We were given a time of 9. 10 pm for seating and told to arrive approximately 15 minutes before our allotted time, bringing with us our booking reference, the credit card we had used to secure our booking, and photo ID ( in the event, on this occasion none of the above were actually required)
We had spent the early part of the evening in the park at the end of a ' park hopping' day and at 8. 45pm, whilst killing time, we decided to wander over to Tommorrowland Terrace where the Fireworks Dessert Party is held. As we approached we noticed quite a line had started to form and was snaking along the terrace, so although we were a little short of our allotted time we decided to join the end.
The waiting queue was made up of couples, groups and families with children and this event is certainly suitable for all ages. You do however need to be aware that strollers are not allowed into the seating area and in common with many Disney attractions they need to be left outside in the allotted parking area.
When we reached the front of the line we gave our party name to the cast member at the podium who quickly located us on his guest list and indicated to his colleague that we were to be identified as party guests by green wrist bands, suitably tagged we were passed to the hostess who showed us to our table.
