Getting the best out of your holiday – part 2
In the theme parks there are many ways of getting the best out of them.
Take advantage of the Fast Pass tickets at the theme parks to avoid too much queuing. Eat lunch out of the usual times as the restaurants are over flowing between twelve and two. This time period is good for going on the rides that are most popular as they will be less busy. Another good time to go on the rides is while the parades are on in the morning or in the afternoon.
Something I have always done when travelling in high season with children, is to give them something to play with or read whilst lining up in queues for the rides. I always take a small paperback myself. Another good tip is to take extra shoes and warm clothing or wet proofs and leave them in the lockers at the entrance. There can be nothing worse than trying to walk with blisters or whilst soaking wet or chilly. It can ruin your whole day. Always keep extra sun cream protection with you at all times and a hat or umbrella during the heat of the midday.
A good way of avoiding exhaustion is to get to the parks early, when they first open, then leave and return to your villa for lunch and a rest or even a swim to cool off. You can then return to the park in the late afternoon and go on the rest of the rides when other people are starting to go home.
Eating out is all part of the holiday; after all, Mum deserves a holiday too! There are so many reasonably priced restaurants to choose from that you need never eat in the same one twice. Mind you, if you find a really exceptional one, you will probably want to go back again. They cater for all tastes, not just steak lovers. There are Italian restaurants, Indian, Chinese, seafood and the usual fast food outlets. All the steak houses that specialise in steaks and burgers have choices in size starting at 8oz and going up as far as 32oz steaks. One of the best restaurants for ribs is Sonnys Barbeque Pit. Do not be put off by the appearance, their ribs are the best I have ever tasted. Although you can have other foods. Their salad bar is huge! Never be fooled, some of the grubbiest looking restaurants often serve the very best food, albeit without much finesse.
