Toon Lagoon at Universals IOA
Toon Lagoon is a great area within the islands of adventure which has a couple of really fantastic water rides such as Popeye and Blutos “Bilge Rat Barges” and Dudley Doo Rights ” Rip Saw Falls”
Popeye and Blutos Bilge Rat Barges is a absolutely fabulous ride, it is without doubt the best white water raft ride within a theme park anywhere in the world and you help Popeye the sailor man rescue his beloved Olive from the grip of Bluto
This ride twists and turns like no other through the waterways of Sweet Haven as you’re transported through a number of amusing scenes all designed to get you as wet as possible. Oh did I forget to mention your WILL get wet without a doubt it’s just a question of how much: soaked or absolutely soaked, We take our rain ponchos to save ourselves from getting absolutely soaked to the skin!
As you were walking into Toon Lagoon did you see all those people either wearing a rain poncho in scorching heat or maybe all the people who’s clothes were obviously wet heading to the restroom to get dry or changed, you did? Well they have been on Popeye and Blutos Bilge Rat Barges, but its great fun and perfect for a hot day!
So you may want to take some precautions wear something that will dry out quickly, or a take a change of clothes or try a poncho (your bum will still get wet wearing a poncho)
Dudley Doo Rights rip Saw Falls is essentially a log flume ride but it has a story line along the way. The setting is the Canadian North Woods and the villain, notorious scoundrel Snidely Whiplash with the hero, a bumbling Royal Canadian Mountie called Dudley Do-Right. Snidely Whiplash has made off with the fair Nell Fenwick and trapped her in Rip saw mill, and it’s up to Dudley Do-Right to rescue her with his faithful horse
You ascend to the top of the falls with lots of small log flume drops along the way keeping you entertained as you climb for ever higher and higher, your journey is punctuated with hilarious jokes and puns
Soon you’re at the top of the huge falls and then there is really only one way down and boy is it a big one, a 75 feet drop is the final jaw dropping plummet , this is one really fast log flume
Both these rides are really great fun for all the family and Oh and did I mention you WILL get wet
There are now massive air dryers near the ride exits that you can rent for $5 to dry yourself off!
