Anheuser-Busch Hospitality Center – SeaWorld
We always like to visit Sea World during our trips to Florida. For some reason it feels more relaxed and less frenetic than the Disney theme parks. That’s not to say there isn’t plenty to keep you occupied because there most definitely is.
Apart from the obvious attractions of Shamu and a variety of other live shows such as the incorrigible ‘Clyde and Seymour’, there is ‘Dolphin Cove’ where you can feed, and hopefully, stroke the delightful dolphins. For the adrenaline junkies amongst you, the two rides ‘Kracken’, a rollercoaster with several 360 degree loops and ‘Journey to Atlantis’ the themed water chute ride with a difference, provide the thrills and spills.
But for the purposes of this article I want to concentrate on one of our favourite areas of the park. One that is tranquil and picturesque…. a place to sit, chill out and watch the world go by. For those of you who have visited Sea World before you may have guessed that I am talking about the Anheuser-Busch Hospitality Center which is located at the north end of the park.
It is an architecturally pleasing building set in lovely surroundings. Here you will find immaculately manicured lawns and flower beds, a delightful outdoor seating area set on a raised deck that looks out over a crystal clear lake which is fed by a waterfall that meanders its way through the landscaped rock gardens.
Inside the building, to the left is a deli where you’ll find some of the best open sandwiches around and the Label Stable souvenir shop where you can purchase a variety of gifts associated with the Budweiser name. The restrooms can also be found in this part of the building.
However, the main attraction is the free beer dispensing area (apologies to those readers under the legal age to consume alcohol, which is twenty-one) which has a backdrop of huge copper brewing kettles. Here Anheuser-Busch employees dressed in their corporate finery are on hand to serve the most popular brands including the non-alcoholic O’Doul’s…. great for those having to drive later in the day.
Although the cup sizes are quite small and there is a supposed daily limit of two per person, (although this does not appear to be policed) it is still a gracious gesture on behalf of the company.
Also at the Center you can attend Budweiser Beer School, I suspect most people are lured here by the beer tasting that follows the video presentations about the history of Anheuser-Busch and the art of brewing beer.
So next time you are passing why not call in for a complimentary beer and take the weight off your feet for an hour or so.
