Advance Reservations at Walt Disney World
Advance reservations are a system that Walt Disney World use to manage their seating flow. This does not give you a specific table but a time to book in at. Once you have booked in you will then receive the next available table. We tend to always arrive about 15 minutes before our reservation. There may be a slight wait at very busy periods, usually between 15 and 30 minutes but most people find that acceptable.
When this system first started it was only guests at Disney Resorts that could use it but now it is open for everyone.
Central Reservations Office (CRO) handles all the reservations. You can call them 407-WDISNEY (407-934-7639) or call WDW Dining directly at 407-WDW-DINE (407-939-3463). Dining reservations can be made from 7 AM to 10 PM every day, except for Christmas Eve and New Year’ s Eve, when they close at 8 p. m.
Most reservations can be made 180 days in advance and require a credit card deposit and some of the very popular need full payment in advance.
When you book you will be given a Confirmation Number. Be sure to write it down and bring it with you on your trip for each Advance Reservation you make.
We usually, although not always, phone to check the booking before we go. This is a good idea just in case a mistake was made during the initial call. WDW does not send you printed confirmation of any of your Advance Reservation events or dining arrangements so it is best to check before finding there is a problem when you arrive at the restaurant.
If you do not check in for your Advance Reservation, you will not be put into the queue and the next available party will take your place.
Several of the restaurants during very busy times will hand out a Flasher. This is a square box with lights that will & quot; flash& quot; when the restaurant has your table ready. This allows your party to wander around the immediate area instead of just waiting for your table.
Some reservations are much harder to get than others. You may also have to try different times and days, just ask what is available. Cancellations occur all the time so call back periodically before you leave for your holiday and even once you arrive at your villa.
For Cinderella’s Royal Table Character Breakfast you must call exactly 180 days before the date you want to dine at the Castle for breakfast. Do start calling a couple of minutes before WDW Dining opens at 7am. As soon as you get through you are best to say I need a reservation for x amount of people for a specific day. Do not ask for times just take what is available. Full payment is required at time of booking.
It is also difficult to get a booking at the Chef’ s Table at Victoria & Albert’ s. There is only one seating for the Chef’ s Table per evening and it is not available on Wednesdays or Fridays. Again you need to phone exactly 180 days in advance at 7am.
A credit card is needed at time of the booking and the names of all the people in the party. This is so they can personalize the menus for each person. A dress code is in effect as well. Gentlemen must be in tie and jacket and ladies should be in evening wear.
If your reservation is before the Park opening time (a character breakfast) just go up to the park turnstiles and tell the Cast Member that you have an Advance Reservation and they will direct you to your venue. They may ask for the confirmation number so be sure to have that with you.
