Turtle Trek at Seaworld!

Don' t you just love turtles? We get to see them a lot in Florida but nowhere better than Seaworld.

We have been hearing about Turtle Trek for quite some time, but I am glad to tell you that it is now open.

So what is it all about? If you have seen Manatee Rescue you will have a good idea. This park has a very clever way of entertaining you while slipping in a lot of education as well.

This is a 360 degree, 3. D. adventure that immerses you in the turtles hazardous journey from hatching on the beach to crossing the sands to reach the comparative safety of the water.

I expect you have often seen parts of the beach in Florida cordoned off in order to allow the babies some peace. And did you know that as they get older, they return to the very same beach to lay their eggs!

You will not miss this attraction as their are banners everywhere leading you to the entrance. The outside is nicely styled in a bold shade of blue.

Once inside, there is a gigantic fish tank full of Caribbean fish and of course, turtles. One of the turtles has a good part of its body missing; Seaworld rescued and rehabilitated this turtle.

You get an interesting talk in this room from a staff member and then it is time to go through and see the main event. The photography is truly awesome and I must give a special mention for the appropriate music.

When you emerge, it is not all over for there is an interactive game. And of course, the game involves you in trying to get a turtle from beach to sea avoiding all the perils. The game is called ' Race for the beach' and there is no better way to make conservation more graphic to the young than playing a game.

And, of course, there is the obligatory gift store. A portion of your purchase goes toward conservation and the amount is documented in the shop.

Seaworld deserve all the praise they get and more for their conservation work. It is such a good day out that it is wonderful to think that we are doing our bit to help in this important work.

The best place to get your tickets is from Orlando Park Tickets; use this link http://www. orlandovillas. com/tickets. aspx.
