Christmas at Seaworld
All the parks put on wonderful displays at Christmas and Seaworld is no exception. There are Christmas trees and lights and many other displays such as Snowmen and Sleighs full of toys.
On the large lake which in the summer hosts a fantastic water skiing and boat stunt show, there is now an ice skating rink and Christmas comes to life on a stage of ice, jewels and light as skaters dazzle in this ice skating extravaganza. The other stars of the show are the towering fountains of water on the lake and fireworks that light up the night sky after the last ice show of the evening
The very popular Christmas special is the Polar Express train ride to the North Pole This is also a walk through for those who do not wish to queue for the train journey. It has become and American Classic story narrated by Tom Hanks and describes the journey through the snow, of a young boy travelling to the North Pole. The sights, sounds, and scents of Christmas surround you from the moment the conductor calls “all aboard” to your arrival at the North Pole (where you’ll meet Santa Claus himself).
The Seamore and Clyde Take Pirate Island show changes to Clyde and Seamore, Santa’s little helpers. The two sea lions, walrus and little otters take to the stage for some festive fun and hijinks. It even features a guest Christmas Elf or two.
We saw a new show (2013 ) Wondrous Night with over 30 carols, life-size puppets and live animals in the show that will charm, entertain and delight people from all walks of life. Lots of singing, special effects and incredible lighting enhance this production of the nativity story
Even the Shamu show changes to a Christmas theme for their night show, now called Shamu Christmas Miracles. Seasonal music surrounds the killer whales as they go through their routine of jumping and gliding through the water.
Children’s favourite, Sesame Street has arrived at Seaworld for Christmas with Elmo and friends for a musical show. Whether or not Sesame Street will remain at Seaworld after Christmas is yet to be seen.
To complete all the Christmas celebrations they have bought in Snow Flurries each night this is a walk-through attraction. The finale to all the days fun are soaring fountains, dazzling lights and festive fireworks choreographed to Christmas music.
All this wonderful Christmas entertainment starts in the second half of December so do check online to see what nights all the attractions are in full swing.
