Shopping and Eating at the Loop
On our last visit to our villa in March 2011 we decided to have a restful day away from the Parks enjoying a day out together and strolling around the shops before eating so we headed for The Loop on St John’s Parkway. I do not remember which day of the week it was but I know my Mother had planned it that it was a Senior’s discount day at Ross when all over 55 year olds get a 10% discount.
We all love Ross although you have to be prepared for long queues as everyone seems to have trolleys packed to the top with bargains. My Mother goes for bags and shoes whilst the girls and I usually go through the clothes as you can get great bargains in designer clothes there.
My Father always has a book with him and as there are benches near to Ross he sits there whilst we go there and subsequently onto to Piers 1 Import where we bought some items for the villa.
Mother and I then went to Bed Bath and Beyond where we can spend quite a while looking at and often buying some of their beautiful ranges of towels and bed linen. While we are doing this My Father takes the girls to the Sports Authority and Aeropostal where they inevitably get treated to one or more presents!
Lids have a great selection of hats and we usually get my brother a gift from here whilst my Father and I then go to the Sunglass Hut as he and I are sunglass fanatics.
On our last visit the girls got bored shopping after a couple of hours so Grandad took them to the Regal Cinema which is conveniently located within the Loop and we all arranged to meet back at the Chipotle Mexican Grill later.
Mother and I then spent quite a while in Dress Barn before heading off to Old Navy where we got some tops and shorts for both ourselves and the girls.
One of our girls had been after some designer trainers so we went to Journeys where we bought these as a surprise for her next birthday. Although expensive they are the equivalent of dollars instead of pounds so we felt quite justified in our purchase!
If you do go to The Loop and you have time have a browse around Michaels Arts and Crafts we love this shop and often buy floral arrangements for the villa here and have even been known to successfully bring some back to the UK!
At the end of our shopping we all met at Chipotle where between us we enjoyed Burritos and Crispy Tacos with guacamole salsa and sour cream before heading back for a lazy evening beside the pool.
