Retail Therapy on the Gulf Coast.
Be rest assured your retail therapy needs will be met if you are staying in Rotonda West, by a visit to the Port Charlotte Town Centre Mall.
This superb mall can be accessed either via state road 776 or via route 41 and is approximately 20 to 25 minutes drive. There is plenty of parking but for the shaded spots under the trees do arrive early.
The Mall offers the large well known stores of Dillard' s, Macy’s, Sears, J C Penney’s and Bealls.
Do remember to take your passport to Macey’s guest services and receive your 10% discount passport towards your purchases. This does exclude Macey’s everyday value clothes, cosmetics and perfumes though.
In November Macey’s usually have their Friends and Family discount card which is a whopping 25% off, again exclusions apply but a further 25% off already reduced items is a great saving; simply find a friendly sales person and ask for one, they tend to hide them. If you plan to visit at the same time the following year keep the card and they will replace it.
Bealls on a Tuesday has the over 50’s 10% discount, just ensure you have ID with you. Also there are the famous Beall’s Bucks, spend $50 and receive a $10 voucher off another $50 to spend during the week. It is easy to reach the required $50 and surprisingly the coupon is still valid even if you return items from the original purchase.
Penney’s have great door buster sales on a Saturday and they tend to last for 4 hours, keep an eye on local papers.
There are also many speciality stores including Hollister’s for the fashion conscious teen, DSW shoe store for the shoe fanatic and Hallmark for that unique gift or greeting card.
The food court with its selection of eateries is one of Florida' s largest food courts located in an indoor shopping mall in south west Florida.
For the avid film fan the Regal cinema features stadium seating and Dolby digital surround sound on 16 screens should keep even the most bored husband occupied if shopping fills him with dread.
Diagonally across from the mall the visitor will find a large Bed Bath and Beyond full of unusual kitchen gadgets; for the
Crafter there is a large Michaels Store and for those of you who miss The Pier there is a large Pier One which is the same parent company and carries an array of unusual items.
A great source of information regarding sales, special offers and discount coupons are the Sunday newspapers and this applies to anywhere in the US not just Florida.
Happy Shopping.
