Child-friendly dining at Beef OBradys
They say variety is the spice of life, and a major benefit of the great number of holidaymakers visiting Central Florida is that there is a very diverse range of food on offer in the State, adding a further dimension to the many other delights available.
Most visitors will expect to find cheap and readily available "fast food", and indeed there are plenty of big name outlets around serving burgers, chicken and fries around the clock- life is full of surprises, and we were charmed to find our local MacDonalds at Champions Gate has flowers on the tables- but if it is that sort of food that appeals to you then we can heartily recommend a chain of sports bars called Beef OBradys, which has become a big hit with my family for various reasons.
Of great appeal to us is the child friendly aspect of the place, with a menu that manages to balance child appeal with a healthy slant, staff who are very welcoming and understanding ( and forgiving!), and a small reasonably priced amusement arcade, which on many occasions has kept our 4 and 3 year olds amused for the 10 or 15 minute wait between food being ordered and arriving which otherwise can be so tiresome after a long day at the parks or in the pool. Anyone who has experienced that particular combination of "tired and hungry" with young children will understand the value we place on that facility! Five minutes peace, just bliss!
The menu features a broad selection of speciality burgers, excellent salads, fiery chicken wings, fish and chips and sandwiches, all served in a friendly and unfussy manner. There is an extensive "happy hour" offering some very reasonable prices on draft beers and house wines, and the light and airy diner feel of the place is complemented by numerous TV screens around the walls showing a huge variety of live sport, from KART racing to Premiership football, without intruding too much if that doesn't interest you.
A sign of a good restaurant is that locals frequent it, and that is certainly the case at Beefs, where we have met a real cross section of people. Because it attracts locals as well as holiday makers it can get busy at peak hours, so be prepared for a short wait before you get to your table- you can sit in the shade outside, or at the bar, which is graced by a large Liverpool Football Club flag at our nearest branch, which is located on the US27, a mile north of the I4 junction 54,at the intersection with CR54, in the Ridgeview Plaza.
PS they do take-away/ carry-outs too!
