50's Prime Time Cafe
To dine here really is a fun and unique experience. You will not be disappointed.
Located in Disney’s Hollywood Studios this restaurant will cater for everyone and everyone's needs. It offers special dietary foods for guests with allergies to wheat, gluten, eggs, nuts etc providing you ring and book 72 hours before dining. Kosher foods are catered for if you ring and book 24 hours in advance.
The style of the restaurant is very like a 50s diner, black a white tiled floor and old looking televisions on the walls showing favourite 50’s sitcoms.
We were greeted by our waiter for the day who happened to be our long lost cousin Ted, well he had the children fooled and they asked for the rest of the day “Was Ted really our cousin?”
After being led to our table Cousin Ted asked if we had all washed our hands, someone replied no and we were all frogmarched to the bathroom to wash for dinner. We then sat at our table being careful not to rest our elbows as we had just heard another family being told off for this. Ted told us Mom was in the kitchen preparing our food. Hats are also strictly a no no as we heard a guy who was over 6 foot tall getting a good telling off. (All in good fun of course)
The menu was varied and there were plenty of tasty dishes to choose from, I opted for a pot roast and I was not disappointed the serving was huge and as it would have been rude to Mom (who is busy cooking all these meals in the kitchen)not to finish it all so I joined the clean plate club. Meat loaf was also a firm favourite with our party. The food was traditional home cooked food and tasted fantastic.
There are plenty of deserts to try also, but after eating such a large dinner we decided it would be better to share (well you wouldn’t want to say no thanks would you?) we got an enormous plate which was brimming with brownies, ice cream and cream, you would be very hard pushed to finish this desert alone but between four of us we managed to clean the plate.
We really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go back.
As with all Disney Restaurants you can book your table prior to visiting or at guest relations at the parks.
