Carrabbas Italian Grill (1)
Simply fine Italian Cuisine in the heart of central Florida come to think of it Carrabba’s Italian Grills are based all over the USA. We have been visiting Florida as a family now for 4 years, but it has taken us 4 years to finally visit this wonderful eating establishment. There are 6 Carrabba’s around Orlando but the nearest one to our accommodation is based on the US192 to the west of Disneyworld.
On arrival we received a very friendly welcome from very enthusiastic staff who asked our name so we could be added to the waiting list. Carrabba’s is very popular so be prepared for a short wait before you are seated at your table.
Once at your table the waiters will introduce themselves, hand you the menu’s while they go to arrange your drinks.
Once your drinks arrive the waiters will also bring you a little house specialty in the form of warn bread sticks and a Carrabba’s dip herb mixture covered in Italian olive oil. Sounds interesting but it tastes absolutely fabulous.
One thing that did impress was the open kitchen, you can see straight into the kitchen and see all the chef’s working their socks off to prepare the amazing food that you will be eating. The kitchen area is a vibrant area of activity that rolls out through into the restaurant giving it that special atmosphere that makes Carrabba’s the diner it is.
Once your food is served a short silence will falls across the table as you feast on the fabulous Italian cuisine served. Flavors will bounce off your plate, and a smile will appear on your face as you chat among your party.
One thing about this restaurant is that you are not rushed in anyway, the staff will wait on you and make your dining experience one to remember. Many of the fabulous American diners to be found in and around Orlando serve larger portions than we Brits are used to but Carrabba’s seem to be different. In the two trips we made over our Christmas 2006 Vacation we found that the portions were just the right size to enjoy Starter, Main and Dessert.
As the queue to be seated can sometimes be quiet long, Carrabba’s do take phone call’s to be added to their waiting list. Just call ½ hour before you set off and on your arrival you should be seated within 10-15 mins.
We will certainly be returning to Carrabba’s Italian Grill on our next trip to Florida as we found the hole dining experience here very enjoyable. Great food, great drinks, friendly staff, and a vibrant atmosphere that we think is just the perfect tonic after a long day enjoying yourselves at one of the many Orlando Theme Parks.
