Eating Out Near Ashley Manor
While the best location around is probably next to your pool, you don’t always feel like cooking, or washing up! There are lots a places within a 5 minute drive where you can enjoy good food from slap up special occasion meals to simple snacks.
Starting with the up-market option you can now visit the hotel at Reunion for meals. They don’t take cash so you must remember to take your credit card. A popular option is to have a meal, a drink, or a snack at “Eleven”, which surprise, surprise is on the eleventh floor. Dining here is quite informal and you have the added bonus of being able to watch the Disney fireworks. They also have a formal restaurant on the ground floor of the same building and the upmarket food is matched by upmarket prices.
The other resort hotel in the area is the Omni near Champions Gate. There are quite a few restaurants in the main building and you can also lunch at the golf club. We used to frequent the Italian restaurant there but since they reduced the menu we have not been so often. There is also a Japanese restaurant and an American restaurant that overlooks one of the golf courses.
Within the Champions Gate strip mall there are three further options. The first, working up from the Omni is the Chinese where you can eat in or take away your meal. Then there is an Italian Restaurant a few doors up from Publix. There is more room to eat here than in the Chinese but again there is a thriving takeaway and delivery service. Just around the corner is the English Bistro, which has opened quite recently and where you will be given a warm welcome by the mother and daughter owners. Of course if you have children in your group you will probably have to visit MacDonalds which is also here.
Still in the Champions Gate area, but on a separate plot, just before the junction with the I4 is Chilis which serves a variety of foods, not all Mexican, and which many of our guests have enjoyed.
Moving on to the junction of the CR534 with Lake Wilson Road where the new Publix is the anchor store there are number of eateries in the Shoppes at Reunion area. There is a Dunkin Donuts with great coffee and, of course, a great variety of donuts and other treats. Just along from there is another Chinese restaurant. I have to admit that we haven’t tried this one yet. There is also a Pizza Hut.
These are all very handy and most are also good for takeaways if you love the pool too much to leave it. However, another five minutes and you have an enormous choice and you will find some of our favourites.
