Best Places to Watch the Fireworks at MK
Over the years we have found many great places to watch the Fireworks from in Magic Kingdom and I would like to share them with you.
Main StreetOne of our favourite places is up in the train station overlooking Main Street. The view of the lights as you look down Main Street is magnificent. In addition, you have a great view to "people watch" while you are waiting for the fireworks to begin.
I discovered this spot by accident -we had just got a snack in the Bakery on Main Street when the fireworks began. We stood in the middle of the street and it was nearly empty. . From here the fireworks seem to just explode right over the castle.
If you stand on Main Street between Casey's and the Ice Cream Parlour you can watch Tinkerbell's light go up through the castle and see her come out and fly down over the crowd.
Crystal PalaceA cast member told us about this spot. Go to Crystal Palace about 30 - 60 minutes before the fireworks start and take a seat on one of the benches that line the front of the restaurant of the porch. We sat down here once on the very last bench on the right side facing the castle about an hour before the fireworks started. Not only were we comfortable our view was not impeded.
Castle AreaTry standing behind Cinderella's Castle, in front of Cinderella's Golden Carrousel to get a great view. Also if you face Dumbo, there's a little food stand with some tables and chairs to your right.
If you are standing in front of Cinderella's Castle simply turn around and walk back to the small park and stand amongst the trees which are festooned with millions of twinkling lights. If you get there early enough you may also get a seat.
FantasylandWhen the girls were small we used to let them have one last ride on Dumbo. They enjoyed the ride and we were getting to view the most spectacular fireworks.
You can also sit on the benches between the Carousel and Pinocchio Village Haus.
Liberty SquareTry Liberty Square outside the gates to the Haunted Mansion and sit on one of those wooden bench blocks that surround the huge trees.
The little courtyard behind the Christmas store is quite and secluded and most times you can sit on the benches there.
You can also stand by the Liberty Belle or even go on the Liberty Belle to get a good view.
TomorrowlandGo to the bridge from the hub to Tomorrowland early and sit on one of the small benches at the entrance to the walkway that takes you down to the rose garden. Here you can watch the castle change colours before Tinkerbell flies and then the fireworks begin.
There is a fenced area within the rose garden just to the left on the bridge where Tinkerbell passes overhead, the castle is in full view and you can watch the fireworks whilst the fragrance of the roses fills the air.
AdventurelandThe view from the Aladdin’s Magic Carpet area is fantastic.
ToonTownTry standing in Mickey's Toontown Fair, right next to the WDW Railroad station. From here it looks like the fireworks are launched from Mickey's backyard
Also just in front of Mickey's House across from the Barnstormer. The fireworks originate near that area and it is seldom crowded. There are usually plenty of open benches for exhausted parents in that part of the park. When the fireworks are finished you can hop on the train, the next stop is Main Street.
I am sure you will find even more places to watch the fireworks but wherever it is you will enjoy them.
