Around Legacy Park
The communities that are near Legacy Park along the US27 have certainly noticed change over the last few years, the area was completely void of any housing developments, shops or restaurants. There were a few garages, certainly no hotels, just miles and miles of beautiful orange groves as far as the eye could see. You could even smell them at certain times of the year. But the area is changing rapidly.
Gradually one or two new housing communities started appearing, then a few shops and restaurants, but with these additions slowly and sadly the orange groves started disappearing to make way for yet more and more housing communities shops and restaurants.
The area is still lovely and there are still a few orange groves and hopefully these will stay for a long time. Most people that use the US27 will notice the difference as they travel to Tampa, or any of the beaches on the Gulf coast.
From the holidaymakers point of view the 27 is a great place to be, Disney is not far away and the drive is easy and can be reached in a matter of minutes, the I-4 junction is a few miles up the road and this is the gateway to the other attractions like Universal Studios and Islands of adventure or Seaworld the many water parks and the countless different Malls there seems to be a new one springing up all the time.
There are many Golf championship golf courses in the area, at least 5 that I can think of, these are all excellent courses suitable for the novices as well as the more proficient golfers, clubs and carts can be hired, or if you find a bargain at one of the many golf shops you can treat yourself to a new set for a very reasonable price.
The local restaurants along the US27 are numerous, ranging from Pizza’s, burger outlets, KFC to the ever popular Cracker Barrel, Manny’s chop house and not forgetting the latest additions of Applebee’s and Bistro Bistro. Too many take aways to list but Chinese, Indian and English are all there.
It’s a great place to be stay, with most of the communities in nice quite locations away from all the hustle and bustle of the parks and attractions. But near enough to reach them all very quickly.
Further afield the Gulf coast is easily accessible too, just a couple of hours to the beautiful beaches certainly not to be missed if you haven’t yet visited them and the lovely Cyprus gardens which is only a short drive away and one of the oldest and original of the Florida parks.
We await the new Postner Park with excitement, as this is a new project that will have some great new shops, restaurants, theatres and a lot more. We hope it will bring even more prosperity to the area over the next few years.
