Celebrating Adult Birthdays in Orlando
When you visit the Disney Parks be sure to go to Guests Relations as you enter the park and tell them it is your birthday. You will be given a ' Today' s My Birthday' badge to wear.
Throughout the day Cast Members (and other visitors) will be calling our “Happy Birthday” and waving to you. You may also be given a free ice cream or dessert when you stop to eat.
Last time we went all the badges were the same at the different parks and there was a space for you to write your name on them. This allows Cast Members to call out your name when they greet you.
During 2009 if you go to the entrance to a park and produce photo ID with your date of birth you will get free admission to that park for that day.
You can have breakfast at the Grand Floridian Café where they present you with a special birthday cup cake to celebrate!
If you want a Birthday Party with a difference you can book one at Wintersummerland Mini Golf Course. The price for the 2-hour party is $18. 95 plus tax, per person and includes cake, pizza, beverages, goody bags and a round of miniature golf on one of the especially themed courses. A minimum of 10 people for each party and a credit card guarantee are required. I believe the hours are currently: 10:00am -12:00 noon; 12:30pm - 2:30pm; 1:00pm - 3:00pm; 4:00pm - 6:00pm
Friends of ours went on a Celebration Cruise at Epcot. You can cruise for an hour on the lake and enjoy VIP fireworks viewing. The price: $220 for 21' Pontoon or $275 for the 25' Pontoon with Audio. This price admits up to 10 if the group is made up of all adults, 12 if the group is a mix of children and adults. The cruise departs 30 minutes prior to the IllumiNations at Epcot. The boat is decorated with balloons and you get a chocolate birthday cake as well as a card from Mickey!
If you are dining in one of the Disney restaurants just let them know it is someone’s birthday and they will provide a cake for you at a small extra charge. Your table will also be decorated with balloons and streamers.
You can make reservations at California Grill at the Contemporary Resort for a special meal, but time it so that you are there for the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom. The food is wonderful, and they turn down the lights and pipe in the music for the fireworks.
If you want a restaurant birthday meal away from the parks go to TGI Fridays where you will be treated well and serenaded by the staff.
However you decide to celebrate I am sure you will have a magical birthday in Orlando.
