2012 at Silver Springs.
Silver Springs have some news about what they have planned for 2012.
If you have not been to Silver Springs before I will first give you the bad news; it is not that close to your holiday villa. If you are used to getting to your chosen theme park in 15 to 30 minutes prepare for a shock because to get to this park is going to take you closer to 2 hours!
However, if you have been to Florida several times and are looking for something new then Silver Springs is worth a visit.
The main feature for 2012 is the concert series; this runs from february the 28th right through to july 4th. Most of the concerts start at 3 pm which leaves you plenty of time to explore the park and take a couple of trips in their famous glass bottom boats.
Where there is more than one featured artist the concerts start earlier.
This is the current line up but it is thought that more performers will be added at some later stage.
February 25th Travis Tritt
March 3rd Steel Magnolias
March 10th Styx
March 17th Kevin Lockry, The Lost Trailers, Little Texas and Lost Heart.
March 24th Glen Campbell
March 31st Eddie Money
April 14th Blue Oyster Cult and Outlaws
July 4th Mark Chesnutt
In addition to all of this there will be a Cheerleading competition on april 7th which will feature the top Cheerleading groups.
So what else can I tell you about? Well, they have just announced that they are going to be selling an All Access Platinum Pass.
Now if you got to Florida more than once a year or go for an extended stay then this could be a good buy for you.
The pass includes free entry for a year to not only Silver Springs but the adjascent water park known as Wild Waters.
There is free parking and free vouchers for food and tickets to bring a friend.
You can also bag yourself a V. I. P. seat to one of the concerts and you have the privelege of early admission. Finally you can buy up to 8 discounted tickets for the Harlem Globetrotters show that is taking place in Gainesville.
The Platinum Pass costs $54. 99 per person.
Silver Springs is located in Ocala, 90 miles from Orlando on S. R 40. You take exit 29 west off the I. 95 or exit 352 east off the I 75.
