Busch Gardens Theme Park
Within around a 1. 5 hour drive from The Disney area of Orlando, you can find your self in Tampa and a visit to Busch Gardens is a must, it has all the rides and is altogether a more pleasant experience that the better known parks. The planting of trees and bushes gives real relief from the heat and humidity that you find at the other parks at certain times of the year. There is a shuttle that picks up from various locations so if you don’t feel like driving, you can still visit. The park is a mixture between a theme park and nature reserve with the animal displays being tastefully done and amongst the best that I have seen.
While there why not try a ride on ShaiKra for three minutes worth of gut renching, white knuckle excitement, or Gwazi a double wooden roller coaster giving all the feel of movement that only a wooden coaster can. If you want to get wet, why not try the Congo River Rapids or the Tanganyika Tidal Wave or for all the family try Cheetah Chase.
If you want a more sedate time, go to see the Pirate 4D show for extra dimensions to your viewing or the more light hearted Critter Castaways for some unusual fun, or for the kids try King Tut’s Tomb, Land of the Dragons, the Serangeti railway or the Skyride.
While there, you really must visit the animal attractions, the English amongst you will specifically remember the old Dray Horses that used to deliver beer in England, Busch has a stable full of Clydesdales and there are regular grooming and exercise sessions for you to watch, also visit the Bird Gardens where you can feed the birds and see the solitary deer, the Edge of Africa, Rhino Rally, Serengeti Plain and Myombi Reserve.
In addition to all of the above, there are regular events including big bands such as the famous Glen Miller Band to The Osmonds, ballroom dancing from January through April , a fiesta every Saturday and Sunday in April and Christian Rock bands on various dates throughout May.
While there, be sure to book your self on the beer experience where a number of beers brewed by the Company are tasted, together with accompanying foods, cheeses etc. The difference between the beers and the tastes when accompanying food is something quite different to experience.
Last but not least, don’t forget to go to the bar and get your free drink, it just rounds the day off.
