Why a Villa ?
For years people have been going to Florida for their holidays, me included ! And the norm has always been to stay in a hotel, but in recent years that has all changed and people are realizing the freedom you can have by staying in a villa.
In a hotel room you simply have the bed, a TV and more often than not now a fridge and coffee maker, there usually is an en suite bathroom too, but is that really enough ? Especially when there are more than two people, the hotel rooms usually have two king size beds and to get the best rate there must be 4 people to occupy the room.
That may be OK for some people but personally I like my privacy and however much we love our grown up children I really think we all need a bit of space.
Having a villa gives you just that, space and usually lots of it, even the 3 bed roomed villa’s have 2 bathrooms as minimum and the living space ( or family room as the Americans like to call it ) is usually very spacious and open. There is usually a formal dining area and kitchen, the kitchens are all fitted out with the usual appliances and that huge fridge freezer with an ice maker that is so popular in America.
The convenience of having your own laundry room is certainly a plus with families that have young children, instead of queuing up to use the hotel washing machines, then queuing again for the dryers is a real pain, in your villa you can simply put the washing in and the sit out on the deck, have a swim , or relax and watch the cable TV while the washing is being done, no dirty laundry to take home either.
But the one of the best things for me is having your very own swimming pool ! Usually big enough to be able to swim in and cool off after lying on the comfortable sun beds but safe enough for younger children to play in , most should have a safety fence round for the very young ones. The joy of getting up in the morning and jumping in that crystal clear blue water , or arriving “ home “ from the parks late in the evening, to be able to swim without having to collect your things and walk to the hotel pool, MAGIC ! Swimming at night is a real bonus for me and I just love the fiber optic lighting that just makes it so special. We have solar lights all around our pool and this makes it look so pretty.
So if you have had any doubts in the past about staying in a villa I hope I have convinced you that it is certainly the best way to enjoy your Florida holiday.
