What’s so Magical about Magic Kingdom Part 5
We are still in frontier land and the next attraction has to be Buzz Lightyear space Ranger Spin now this is a great ride for the kids and adults too although it can be very popular and quite often a sizable queue so you need to be careful about when you want to visit
You have full control of your very own Space Cruiser and have to help buzz defeat the evil emperor Zurg , soon you are blasting away with your space ranger lasers stopping Zurg from stealing batteries from helpless toys to power his weapons of destruction
You can spin the space cruiser rapidly in any direction and this really adds to the fun it is a really good laugh and has an element of competition to see who can get the most points and attain the highest rank, of course Dads won’t want to score more than the kids will he he he
Now it’s on to Stitches Great Escape, now I have been visiting Disney long enough to remember when this ride was about an Alien escape but has now been adapted to include Stitch and his many friends although essentially it’s the same ride
You sit in a seat in a circular space chamber and you are clamped into your seat over your shoulders to protect you from injury in fact this just to add a little dramatiam to the story, Stitch is transported into a protected glass cage within the centre of the room next thing there is a power failure and in the pitch black darkness Stitch manages to break free and roams around the craft
You can smell him close to you and feel him running around pressing on the shoulder guard on your seat and sometimes you can here and feel his breath on your neck, it’s a great show for sure but can be a little scary for younger children
The cream of the crop in tomorrow land has to be Space Mountain. I can remember when this ride was first built I saw it on John Cravens Newsround but it has aged really well it is still great fun and more importantly a great roller coaster ride
Much of the ride is in darkness and all the rocket cars have luminous strips attached to them so as you ride the space mountain you can other luminous streaks other carriage zipping here and there it does indeed look like shooting stars
This is the best roller coaster in my view - I don’t really like them but love Space Mountain although I try to not sit at the front because you really do get the feel of the speed and big drops if you do
Space Mountain is one ride to definitely try
