What’s so great about Epcot 7
After your visit to Journey into imagination with Figment its time to visit what I think is possibly one of the best ride in Epcot perhaps with the exception of Test Track, because the Soarin ride tends to be very very popular and if you can I would recommend you Fastpass it if not keep your eye on the big LED boards that show the average waiting times for all the major rides and choose your time to visit carefully.
Soarin really is great before I rode it everyone was telling me you must visit soarin you fly through the air like a bird and to be honest all the hype about it put me off a little but it is a MUST Visit ride. You climb aboard the ride and get strapped in and soon you take off and are hand gliding above beautiful California, you view many of the iconic landmark , you swoop through valleys , rolling hills the waves at the sea edge I can’t really put into words just how good this ride is you have to experience, you even fly over the magic kingdom!
Next it is time for one of the classic shows in the Epcot centre probably not the most exciting for the kids although my kids found it interesting when they were young teenagers but not when they were little other than the fact we were riding on a little barge on the water. I am talking about living with the land this is an original show from when Epcot was built and now with the environment being more important than ever Living with the Land seems to be more relevant than ever.
For those of you that live in Britain and have visited the Eden project will find it similar but Living with the land was built some 25 years or more before the Eden project, it demonstrates how science tries to develop systems to help increase food production for many reasons particular for places where food is difficult to grow such as the dessert.
Some of the demo show the science of hydroponics or growing food without solid other show how certain plant species have been bred to thrive in adverse conditions or to increase yield, whilst a lot of this is widely known today when Living with the land was first built this must have been cutting edge science.
Living with the land is also a great show to visit if you are hot and tired as it’s nice and cool and you get a nice sit down all the way around great for a rest after a hard day walking round the park.
