Then there are the spectacular parades which I believe are the highlight of Mardi Gras, these are on every Saturday through the Mardi Gras in February and March they start at 8.00pm and in April they start at 9.00pm
The parades set off and wind their way around the streets of Universal Studios, the float themes include, summer, winter, fall and spring, then there are the sun and moon floats. Some of the traditional Mardi Gras floats include the Riverboat, King and Queen, King Gator, Jester, Beauf gras as well as the Universal and Title floats.
As well as the floats there are dancers, street performers and stiltwalkers that all help to add to the party atmosphere. All the performers on the floats throw handfuls of colourful beads into the audience as they pass by.
In the French Quarter Courtyard there are yet more live musical performances to keep you entertained.
The show times for February and March are 5pm, 6.15pm and 7.15pm. The show times for April are 5pm, 6.15pm and 8pm
