Islands of Adventure Information
For those that have not been to Islands of Adventure before I hope you will find this information useful.
I feel you need a full day here because there is so much to see and do that you will be occupied non stop from park open to park close. In the high season when the queues are longer you probably will not be able to fit it all in in one day.
Islands of Adventure is located next to Universal Studios which is on Universal Boulevard and is at the top end of International Drive close to ' Wet n Wild' and has direct access from the I4.
Universal parking is in a multi storey enclosed garage complex with moving sidewalks, escalators and elevators. Last time we were there the parking charge was about $10. For a nominal fee Preferred Parking allows you to get closer to the park and not have to go upstairs or downstairs. Just ask the attendant when you pay for your parking. Once you have parked your car, follow the signs and moving sidewalks, eventually you will reach ground level and you walk about 400 yards and then you can go left to ' Islands of Adventure' or right to ' Universal Studios' .
Go left and you will see the IOA Lighthouse tower that stands at the main entrance.
Guests can rent strollers, wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles near the Studio exit. Manual wheelchairs are also available.
You will see signs post specific height requirements and warnings for certain medical conditions.
• Children less than 48' (1. 22 meters) must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
• All shows accommodate guests with disabilities.
• The outdoor-stage shows have reserved areas clearly marked by signs displaying the International Symbol of Accessibility.
These are the height requirements for some of the attractions:
• The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: 40' Tall
• Doctor Doom' s Fearfall: 52' Tall
• Incredible Hulk Coaster: 54' Tall
• Dudley Do-Right' s Ripsaw Falls: 44' Tall
• Popeye and Bluto' s Bilge-Rat Barges: 42' Tall
• Jurassic Park River Adventure: 42' Tall
• Pteranadon Flyers: 36' to 56' Tall
• Dueling Dragons: 54' Tall
• Flying Unicorn: 36' Tall
If you require a locker they are available near the entrance for guest rental at a nominal fee which I believe is $8. 00. Guests have unlimited access to these lockers all day.
Lockers are also available at the entrance of the following attractions: Incredible Hulk Coaster, Dueling Dragons, Jurassic Park River Adventure. There is a nominal fee of $2. 00 per hour with a $14. 00 per day maximum. The lockers at the Incredible Hulk Coaster and the Dueling Dragons are free for at least the first 45 minutes (time may vary - check with the individual attractions for specific length of time).
Child and baby swap areas are available at each ride so parents may take turns
watching their child while the other rides. This makes it possible for every guest to enjoy the rides. For further information or instructions, please ask a ride attendant.
For assistance with special dietary requirements, menus or other food and drink information ask at the Guest Services Office which is located inside the main entrance and to the right of the turnstiles. Studio Stars and Lombard' s Landing restaurants accept reservations.
Nursing facilities and a companion restroom are available at Family Services, located to the left of the First Union National Bank. Nappy changing facilities are available at all restrooms.
I hope this information makes your day at Islands of Adventure even more enjoyable.
