Typhoon Lagoon Refurbished - Part 5
When you all leave your loungers together it is always advisable to leave some non valuable items on them to ensure you do not come back and find someone sitting on them!
We like Leaning Palms for lunch and sometimes when Typhoon Lagoon has extended opening hours in the evening we arrive there about 3. 00pm when some of the visitors are leaving to go to other Parks. As the day goes towards evening it can be very cooling to enjoy the lower temperatures and fewer crowds and we then usually eat at Leaning Palms before we leave the Park.
Leaning Palms has a typical American menu and you queue at a till station while you wait for your order to be taken and paid for then you go to the serving window to collect your food.
On the menu you will find Double Burgers, Chicken Nuggets, Chilli Dog, Chicken Wraps and Salad. You can also get Fries and Fruit Bowls and the usual drinks including Beer. Smaller children can get their meal in a sand bucket along with a spade! There is the usual sauces station where you can also collect your cutlery and serviettes.
We usually opt to go to the larger seating area which always appears much cooler with its many fans.
If you do not particularly want a meal there are plenty of refreshment areas around the Park. Several kiosks sell Pretzels, Water and Funnel Cakes where as the girls always have ice cream that I believe it called Dipping Dots.
After lunch some of our party went for a walk around the Park whilst others went back to the loungers to read or just sunbathe for a while after lunch.
About an hour later we all went and had a shower under one of the funny shaped showers dotted around the park and then we headed for ride we find best for all the family Gangplank Falls. This is advertised as “mild but wild” and we all enjoy it although some of us got wetter than others! You go in Rafts that accommodate four people and I believe all ages can participate. We had two rafts as there were seven of us and enjoyed this all the more as we all met at the bottom of the 300 foot ride my Father and I completely drenched when most of the others got off with just a few damp patches.
After this my parents went back to Leaning Palms to enjoy a quiet beer whilst the rest of the party went onto other rides, more of this in Part 6.
