Pauls Florida diary Day 2..morning
The first morning I woke up pretty early around 7am to find glorious sunshine, something I am not used to as the weather in May and June back home in England had not been that great so it made a nice change
I had a little toast and jam for my breakfast along with some local watermelon and it was delicious all the fruit and vegetables taste so good in Florida it makes healthy eating so easy.
It was announced by the rest of our party that we were going to Universal Studios today and to get ready as everyone was bursting to get there as soon as possible so before I knew it we were all in the hire car and on our way
Soon we arrived at Studios and parked up the car and were on our way through security into the City walk area of universal and then onto studios, we stopped to take to obligatory picture near the spinning world of Universal studio
Once through the gates Will and Karlie announced they were going to ride the huge coaster so they waited in line ready for this and Shirley and I decided to go up to Twister.
Now twister must be one of the oldest rides/shows in Studios but it’s a good way to start our tour I thought so we huddled in on the front row I made sure we didn’t stand anywhere that had a puddle of water, the experienced head there making sure we wasn’t going to get wet if at all possible
The show kicked off just I remembered it having seen it many times and before long the cow was flying through the air right in front of our eyes I over heard one kid say how tame this show was and I thought blimey the first time we enter the twister show many years ago when the kids were young we though it simply awesome!
Now I thought ” he is so right” the shows have moved on so much with the use of technology but despite all this the floor dropped at a certain point of the show and it still managed to make Shirley and I jump, still great fun!
We appeared into bright hot sunshine and still had more time to kill whilst Will and Karlie were still in line for the Rip Ride Rocket roller coaster so what next? We didn’t want to do anything too scary so we chose an old favourite Shrek 4 D the line was very short so it was perfect and soon as we entered the line we were inside the cool air-conditioned entrance. The Shrek show is still great laugh especially for the younger members of any party, the seat in the auditorium do tends to buck around as you become involved in the story so be ready for it, overall it’s a great story line and a lot of fun and as usual donkey steals the show
Well we now went back to the Rip Ride Rocket roller coaster but on the way bought a churro. I love these sweet things although there not the best for the waist line but great for a sweet tooth
We ambled around the park coming across the Revenge of the Mummy next Will and Karlie announced they were going on this ride yet another roller coaster ride a quick glance at Shirley confirmed we were not going on this roller coaster neither of us particularly brave in our old age
So we strolled over to the Blues Brothers show for a little entertainment, now we both have seen this show many many times now but I have to say it is still great, despite the sweltering heat the guys put on a great show and had visitors dancing on the pavement and into the road with Shirley joining the conga at the finish
Soon will and Karlie appeared from the revenge of the Mummy and we now decided it was time for lunch
