Men in Black (MIB) at Universal Studios
There are lots of great rides in the Universal Studio’s but for me one of the best has to be the Men in Black ride. I can remember when they were building this ride at the height of the Men in black feature films popularity
It is one of the most popular by far and I would suggest that you arrive early and make your way straight there to avoid the queue or alternately use your fast pass to get a good slot, but don’t leave it too late as all the fast passes can have gone by 5pm in the afternoon on very busy days
Once you manage to get inside you will find a long winding queue takes you through the offices of MIB, there are lots of animatronics of the alien creatures featured in the films, the friendly ones that is, as normal with Universal it’s all very well done
Soon you are heading through the control room which is just as it is in the films and very soon you are in the space vehicle which seats 6 people, everyone in the vehicle gets a weapon this is where the fun begins because this ride is truly interactive
You are given instructions on how you need to be careful and to make sure that you shoot as many rogue aliens as possible, also 2 cars go through the patrol side by side and each vehicle has a target on the top
At a certain point in the ride you are supposed to shoot this target the person who does receives a big point’s bonus but it’s never at the same point and so I won’t give it away but be vigilant!
Soon you’re zapping the aliens as if you were doing it to save the earth be careful though, don’t shoot any friendly ones or you will loose points Each person has a digital counter so you can see how well your kids are doing in comparison to yourself
This is where it gets interesting as any self respecting Dad will tell you he is MUCH better at shooting aliens than any of his kids and wife obviously! ! So let battle commence but make sure you have an excuse for if things don’t entirely go to plan
My favourite excuse is the gun doesn’t shoot properly it must be damaged because every time I pressed the trigger it didn’t shoot! ! ! , think of something along those lines and you won’t go far wrong in convincing the kids
This in my view is the best ride in Universal it’s a lot of fun and keeps everyone entertained, truly interactive.
