Fun at Night in Orlando
There is so much to do in Orlando at night time. One of our favourite nighttime activities is going to Magic Kingdom at night and enjoying the fireworks as well as some of the rides. You will find that even the rides take on a different feel than being there during the day, especially Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean.
The Castle at night all lit up is just so magical. At Magic Kingdom, as well as the other parks, if you stay until late in the evening you will find it much easier to get on the rides. Be sure not to miss the final parade and the fireworks.
Another favourite place to be at night is World Showcase at Epcot. Without the glare of the hot Florida sun it feels so much more like being in another country. We usually book a meal in one of the countries restaurants and then wait to see the firework display.
However the most special theme park at night for me has to be Hollywood Studios. We tend to go mid afternoon and then have a meal before getting priority seating for Fantasmic. If you are there around Christmas time be sure to visit the Osborne Family of Lights complete with falling snow!
During the hot summer months the children love to go to the new Aquatica Waterpark at night when it is open until 10. 00pm. It tends to get quieter about 7. 00pm and they love going on the rides with everything being lit up.
If you visit Seaworld in the evening be sure to see the final Shamu show of the day but only sit at the front if you do not mind getting wet!
Friends of ours have recommended the campfire sing-a-long and movie at Fort Wilderness Campground. We have never been but they reckon that is the ultimate in movie watching outdoors, while roasting marshmallows.
If we go to the Boardwalk area we like to have dinner at the Flying Fish or one of the other restaurants then walk around the BoardWalk watching the entertainers, stop at Seashore Sweets for ice cream and make our final stop at ESPN' s game arcade.
At Downtown Disney the younger children can visit the Lego store and toy store whilst teenagers will enjoy DisneyQuest and also going to the Magic Shop and Virgin Records. If you want a meal there there is plenty of choice.
Just fancy a late night stroll then go to Celebration and have a stroll around before sitting on the rocking chairs by the lake.
If the children are tired but not yet ready for bed we tend to go to a local mini-golf course, they again are so much more magical by night.
Then finally back to our villa for that final dip in the pool.
