Eating Out In The Orlando Area
There is a wealth of restaurants and fast
food outlets in and around the Kissimmee/Lake Buena Vista areas in
Orlando.
Most restaurants offer "specials" including
EarlyBird dining (before 7pm) and are usually child and adult friendly!
It is a mistake to think that because there are so many restaurants
getting a table without booking will be no problem!
Carrabba's,
an excellent Italian restaurant on Hwy 192, nr. Splendid China, was
full on a Wednesday evening in February. There are several
restaurants in Celebration, Columbia is a Spanish restaurant serving a
good range of Spanish, Fish and Steak dishes - there is also an
adjoining small bar featuring live "Salsa" on Friday's
and Saturdays. It is very pleasant walking around the lake at
Celebration after a typically large meal. Both Carrabba's and
Columbia have their own websites.
Something different is the Japanese Kobe
and Benihana - this is not at all spicy, everyone sits around a
hibachi table and your chef conjures up stir fry types of
dishes whilst entertaining you with his juggling tricks. Look
out for the discount coupons that appear in many free guides.
Kobe is situated on the 192, Benihana at Lake Buena Vista.
There
are many restaurants within Universal's City Walk, including Hard Rock
Cafe.
For a drive in snack or take out there are all the
familiar and not so familiar fast food outlets - all the
"Burger" places, KFC, Popeye's, Pizza Hut, TacoBell etc,
these are featured on most main strips. For excellent value for
money and choice try lunching at 1 of the shopping mall food courts.
