Discounts and Vouchers in Florida
These can be found in abundance and you can get some very good savings and
don’t have to just shop in the sales!
RESTAURANTS
You will find money off vouchers for most restaurants in the various free
publications you can collect throughout Florida. It is not only in Orlando that
these are published. However some restaurants do not participate, I have only
once seen a voucher for Fridays and that was for a specific newly opened
restaurant.
Many restaurants do Early Bird offers the times for these can vary between
3. 00pm- 7. 00pm.
Most restaurants do concessions for Senior Citizens (over 50 ) usually if you
ask they will give these even if they are not advertised.
HOTELS
The majority of Hotels, particularly in Orlando advertise their rates.
However some, particularly near the Coasts do not and you can walk in and ask
the rate which is sometimes open to negotiation.
There are specific Hotel publication that you can get in Tourist information
Offices or in the foyer of many restaurants that advertise “walk in specials”
i. e. you
walk in with the voucher to book for that day.
AA/AAA
If you are a member of the AA in the UK you will qualify for AAA discounts in America, many places
advertise a AAA symbol outside. We got ours by phoning the AA in the UK who
issued us with an AAA card. I am not sure whether they still issue these or you
just use your original AA card, best to check with the AA before you travel.
WEEKEND NEWSPAPERS
These are crammed with vouchers and discount coupons. I
always intend to read my book but at weekends sometimes never get further than
the newspapers! Particularly good for vouchers for drugstores Walgreens and
Eckerd who we always seem to visit and they nearly always have offers for Colas,
nail products etc.
DISCOUNT COUPON BOOKS
Can be found everywhere in Orlando as can specific
vouchers for money off, i. e. Reebok nearly always have quite a substantial saving
voucher and this along with their many in store 3 for 2 offers mount up to
substantial savings. I have yet to find discount vouchers for Nike although
they may exist.
Money off entry to many Florida
attractions can also be found in these.
PUBLIX
This supermarket has its own publication usually situated
at the entrance to the store and in this you will find money off vouchers for
items in its store, they nearly always have some sort of offer on Beer and
Sodas.
CRAZY GOLF
Vouchers for discounts for these can be found in most
publications. However many of these courses also give an additional discount for
afternoon play.
BELZ / PREMIUM OUTLETS
In Belz go to the Information desk and ask for a book of
discount vouchers. At Premium Outlets you can go to the Information desk and
either present your AAA card or a voucher obtained in one of the free
publications and they give you a discount book. I believe Premium Outlets have
starting charging for these books if you don’t have the AAA card or a voucher.
The savings in both outlets particularly in Ralph Lauren
can be quite substantial.
One final saving - in the Food Court at Premium Outlets
buy 3 Giant Toffee Apples and get the fourth free! We love them, cant possibly
eat them in one go , they keep in the fridge for about 4 days and are eaten
sliced, either on their own or with ice cream!
