Dining Al Fresco in Celebration
If you are like us, wether home or on vacation, if the weather permits you love to eat outdoors.
Orlando isn’t always the easiest place to find restaurants that offer patio dining. Sure, there is always plenty of outdoor dining available at the theme parks, especially at the places offering counter service, and on the 192 and International Drive some of the familiar chain restaurants are now offering patio dining, but often the view across a car park leaves something to be desired.
If outdoor dining is a must for you, then why not try Celebration?
Most ( if not all) the restaurants offer patio dining with views across the pretty main street to the lake beyond. Here are just a few of our favourite places to dine al fresco.
Market Street Café is a wonderful place for breakfast, just ask the server to seat you outside ( you may have a short wait) and then enjoy your breakfast amongst the locals and other holiday makers. We love breakfast here. Whatever time of year you visit, you will see the same residents who come daily for breakfast, a sure sign that the food is excellent and great value for money.
Why not try the house specialityof baked potato omlette served with fried potatoes or sliced tomatoes, or my favourite, “little Sarah’s French Toast”, great for anyone with a sweet tooth as it is served with strawberries in syrup and brown sugar….. it’s a huge portion!!! A good alternative is the apple panckes but unless you have a big appetite, order a short stack!
Market Street Café also offers lunch and dinner menus offering items such as chicken, pasta and burgers, and although I’ve never tried it I’m told that the meatloaf is really something special. It’s great casual dining after a busy day.
The Celebration Tavern /Boston Market offers al fresco dining at lunch and dinner. Ask to be seated on a “slider” in the raised seating area of the court yard. Not only do you get a lovely view out of the courtyard but the seats actually “glide” to and fro, so be warned….. I wasn’t expecting it and had the shock of my life when I sat down.
The restaurant speciality is fresh fish and seafood and the baked kingprawns stuffed with crabmeat are something else!! If you aren’t a lover of fish, I have had some really good steaks here as well.
If you like an appetizer, the chicken skewers with sweet chilli dip are scrummy, but be warned, share a portion or you will be too full to eat your entrée!
Before I leave The Celebration Tavern I must mention the cocktails, I think the frozen pina colada is one of the best I have tasted anywhere, and I’ve sipped a few!
For another great al fresco experience try Café D’Antonio, we always make a reservation if we want to eat here and always request a table on the terrace.
The service here is excellent and it always feels quite “special” especially during the evenings. I couldn’t pick a favourite meal here, their lasagne is great and their chicken dishes superb. I have never eaten a pizza here, but the ones I have seen travel past our table have always looked delicious’ and huge!
Finally, not exactly “dining” but for lovers of Starbucks, why not try Barnies for your mid morning or after dinner coffee, The service is good, the coffee is great and sitting in the courtyard helps to take the weight off after a morning’s shopping.
Whichever outdoor dining experience you try I’m sure you won’t be disappointed…….enjoy!!
