choosing the right villa (part 2)
Now that we have chosen type/ Size of villa, location, type of community the villa is on we need to look at a little more detail of each one.
By now you would have got a short list together of all of the above and started to narrow the search down. Still you will be left with a load of properties all ticking the right boxes, so how do we filter even further? For a start we need to work out a realistic budget we will be working with. This is normally a very tricky decision as there seems to always be huge differences in price between various villas. One thing you should not try and do is just go for the cheapest villa you can find. Many villas offering cheaper rates normally do not come with all the extras you would expect (Internet, free calls, BBQ etc). Prices normally step up depending on the size of your villa and time of year you go.
When filtering out properties look to see if they have been well maintained and looked after, such signs would be looking to see if the furniture looks worn and tired and the décor is poorly finished. Many villas offering cheaper rates will be of the above and poorly looked after; do you want to stay in a place like this just to save a few dollars?
When looking at a villa each property will have good and bad points to them. Identify which facilities are more important to you and list these. Each villa should be able to meat all your requirements. Do you want a large pool? Or are you after a spa, do you want to be not overlooked from the pool area, or is a south facing pool which has sun all day a must. Do the kids want a games room or Internet? The list is much larger than this and most villas will not tick all the boxes, but ones that tick the majority are always going to sit high on your list. Every person is different and will no doubt finish up with different results.
Lastly you will have a short list of properties that you can enquire about. Obviously this is a lot easier to handle than looking at hundreds and will mean you end up staying in a villa that is what you are looking for. The key to a successful booking is normally to book early to avoid disappointment; this could not be truer than in Orlando where properties book up well in advance. Peak dates can book as much as 2 years ahead, so if everyone is looking for the same type of property as you then you might be out of luck if you don’t do it as soon as you can (which we know you won’t be doing!!!!!)
