Bahama Breeze at Rolling Oaks Common
Bahama Breeze is the most recently opened Rolling Oaks restaurant and although there are several other branches around the Orlando area we had not eaten at Bahama Breeze until our last trip. Here you will find steak, chicken and fish dishes as well as speciality dishes which all reflect the taste of the Caribbean Islands.
We visited twice during our stay, the first time we pushed the boat out with Coconut Shrimp starter to share, grilled Tilapia with green beans, giant sea scallops with sweet corn fritters and I also indulged in a very nice Pineapple Martini which was a mix of Parrot Bay Coconut rum, pineapple juice and a splash of Grenadine garnished with a slice of fresh pineapple infused with even more rum!
Hubby was the designated driver on this visit so he had to make do with a Coke! Even so the final bill was only around $60 including tax but before the tip which we thought was very reasonable especially as we had received first class service in beautiful stylish surroundings. We did notice when we were looking at the menu that there was a happy hour Monday – Friday from 4pm-7pm when certain drinks and appetizers were available for around half price so the next time we visited we went early, around 6pm, and ordered from the happy hour menu.
On our second visit we had a selection of 3 different starters to share, the West Indian Patties (similar to a samosa with a slightly spiced beef and vegetable filling), the coconut shrimp that we had on our previous visit and the buttermilk chicken sliders (deep fried chicken strips on toasted brioche rolls with mayonnaise and pickle). There were 4 patties and 4 sliders per portion so at $5 per portion they offered incredible value. They also offer classic cheeseburger sliders and wood grilled chorizo sliders again with four sliders to a portion which also looked good but we just didn’t have the appetite to try these out.
I also sampled the Ultimate Pina Colada which consisted of Captain Morgan Spiced rum swirled with fresh strawberry flavoured ice and topped with Myer’s dark rum and a strawberry it was delicious and hubby had a beer (we were with friends so he didn’t need to drive). We then shared a dessert of warm banana nut bread with sliced bananas, ice cream, cream and a delicious butterscotch brandy sauce and the grand total this time was $30. 49 inc tax.
So our tip is if you want to try this place but are not sure of what they serve go between 4pm and 6pm Monday to Friday try the happy hour specials and you really can’t go wrong!
