A Visit to Panera Bread
For several years we had seen Panera Bread restaurants opening in Orlando and before we even got chance to visit the new one on the 27 at Cagan’s Crossing another one opened at Rolling Oaks and hence we made our first visit to Panera Bread.
Visiting a Panera Bread establishment is an interesting experience and the first thing you notice in the inviting main entrance is the display of cakes etc from which to choose from. It is only when you come to order do you realise that with the exception the Dish of the Day there are no prices visible for you to see so you do not find the price out until you come to pay.
We thought that after we had ordered the dish of the day which was soup and a sandwich and was absolutely fine in hindsight it would have been better to find a seat either in-doors or out and look through what was available and the deals on offer. All the food is very tempting and the portions are a good size even for my Granddad who was beginning to feel very hungry at the time. There is an extensive selection of cakes and whilst we were there many customers came in and had ordered them “To Go” very few of these customers enquired about the price they just paid what they were asked for at the till!
Panera Bread has lots of advertisement about their Artisan breads and there are about fifteen types to choose from so putting that together with the food can be quite an interesting challenge until you become familiar with what is on offer. They also serve hot breakfast’s sandwiches with all the usual fillings. There are Bagels of all sorts as well as Kids menus with a great selection of sandwiches and salads that are all quite sufficient even for hungry little ones.
The restaurant is well organised you choose your food pay for it and then go in a side corridor where you food is served to you. We did not quite know how to get a drink at the time but there is a self-service hot and cold drink’s station at the end of the food collection bar.
There was plenty of food to choose from and all a good size with continuous refills of drinks that can be enjoyed either inside or out. The outdoor dining area is covered with umbrella’s for shade.
Well worth a visit we will go back now we understand it a bit better.
