Universal Studios vs Disney
I often get asked is Universal Studios better than the Disney parks?
Normally people who are on their very first visits ask this because they are trying to decide whether to visit just the Disney parks or both Disney and Universal Studios as well
This is a difficult question to answer really because there is no clear winner between them! They are both equally good but very different, although there are a lot more Disney parks currently, but Universal Studio is expanding and building new parks as I write this review
Universal does seem to have a more grown up feel to it and you can see this in some of the attractions although the relatively New Islands of Adventure does have a lot of rides and shows that are aimed more at the younger audience
The rides and shows in Universal Studios seem to be more themed on actual films and TV shows and I think this is why I feel that Universal Studios is more for adults particularly in the original Universal Studios , in the Islands of adventure it' s a different feel altogether
In the Studios there is the excellent Terminator 3 D show one of everyone' s favourite show, then there is the Simpsons Ride which is fairly new, the building was previously used for the Back to the Future ride, then there is Men in Black a very popular ride and rightly so
Further on there is the Fear Factor show in which members of the audience can take part and following on from this there is the Jaws ride, this is now an old ride but still very entertaining, not far from Jaws is the disaster ride, previously known and the Earthquake ride after the movie from the seventies
There are now two roller coasters rides in Universal Studios, the Mummy and the very new the Twister none of which I can review as I am too scared to ride a roller coaster unlike many of the younger visitors
The Island of Adventure is separate park although linked by a short walk and this has 5 themed areas within it, there is the Marvel Super Hero Island comic area with the superb Spider Man ride, or Toon Lagoon where you WILL get wet on the fantastic Bilge Rat Barges following on to Jurassic Park area with the Jurassic Park River adventure, before venturing into the lost continent and the Poseidon’s Fury show, finishing off at Suess Landing with the Cat in the Hat
Don' t choose either Disney or Hollywood Studios chose BOTH
