Typhoon Lagoon part 2
Typhoon Lagoon part 2
The lagoon itself is brilliant it is so big I haven’t seen anything like it in the UK, if you don’t like the deep water the lagoon opens out into a wide shallow bay which is great for the younger children or grown ups who aren't very confident swimmers etc
Every half hour or so the horn sounds on the ship wrecked boat on to of Mount Tillie, the wave machine kicks in and you here a large bang and the waves starts
Its certainly bigger than any of the wave pools I have seen in the UK and it can be quite deep if you swim out into the rope at the end of the lagoon I believe they actually teach surfing in the lagoon at certain times of the year after closing times
If you have small children there is an area dedicated specifically to them called Ketchakiddee Creek where they can play safely with smaller versions of similar rides that are all around the park
Even if you do not want to partake in many of the rides but want to chill out on a beach there are lots of great areas where you can find some sand for the kids to play in, often only just a few yards away from the bay which simulates the sea closely, so you can also have a beach day from within a Disney resort
As with all Disney resorts there are plenty of places to find food and lots of places to sit and eat food with many picnic type areas amongst trees giving good shade, one thing we were quick to catch onto is that you can buy a drinks cup which for a few dollars you buy a bar code sticker which you stick onto the outside of the mug
This bar code gives you Unlimited drinks through out the park for the whole of the day, you simply show the bar code to the scanner on the side of the drinks station and then proceed to fill with drink of your choice this can save you lots of money especially if you have children
What was our overall impression of Typhoon Lagoon well in the kids own words….. COOL!!!! It is very different to any of the water parks in the UK so much better and like al things Disney its superb and very very safe and clean
As we have been to Disney many times the water parks have actually become our favorites over the normal Disney theme parks
They’re great for all ages including the so-called grown up kids (Adults) We love it!
