Paul’s Florida diary day 4 pm
We decided to have a little lunch around 3pm and afterwards decided that it had been so hot in the day that we would head back and have a hour or so in the pool and then pick up some form of takeaway for our tea instead of going out for a meal.
We had a few cold beers and soft iced drinks in the hot spa followed by a few dips in the pool, having a private pool is just an awesome way to relax much better than a communal pool at a hotel well that’s in my view anyway
Much debate followed about what we would have for takeaway, should we get a pizza , Karlie being a chicken nugget addict wanted McDonalds so a compromise was reached after showers Shirley will and Karlie would go out in the car to MacDonald’s first and then to Taco Bell not ever having had any food from taco bell before we were looking forward to it
Soon they set off in the big SUV and within minutes the rain that had been threatening all day suddenly appeared huge black clouds and the like of rain I have never seen before. I have been to Florida many times and been caught in some heavy storms one so heavy we even had to pull the car over but never seen rain like that, it rained so hard the roads were covered in a several inches of water even on the local news they were reporting extreme rainfall . Water began running of the roof of the villa like a stream and then the thunder and lightening started. We get thunder and lightning in the UK but in Florida the lightening is simply amazing you can sit and look out of the patio doors and be amazed it s…. much better than the Disney fireworks ! ! !
The sky can be lit up with all sorts of colours and all sorts of lightening including sheet lightening and fork lightening, an amazing spectacle anyway they all arrived back at the villa with the food, safe and sound I noticed on the news that there had been quite a few car accidents due to the severe rain indeed it said many people had never seen rain fall like that in such a short time
Luckily our Taco Bell and Karlies McDonalds were as dry as a bell even if THEY were all soaked, and so we tucked in with a few beers after another long day. Delicious!
