Florida Mall
If you like a little bit of retail therapy then you will almost certainly love the Florida Mall, located on the intersection of Sand lake road and the Orange blossom trail it is one of the largest shopping malls in central Florida.
Its opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10am until 9pm and Sunday trading 12 midday until 6pm.
It not only houses around 250 speciality stores but also the major department stores such as JCPennies which is my personal favourite but also Dillard’s, Sears, and Macy’s. These department stores are great and are very similar to the like of our Beaties, Rackhams and Debenham’s and some great bargains are to be had here especially in the sales. Their prices are very often lower than back here in the UK and I usually stock up on the odd Christmas present or two.
The Mall also houses along 250 other stores which are also competitively priced and offer many things from electrical outlets to toy shops to clothes shops, some of my favourite being the Bombay company which sells really unusual ornaments and household items with an Indian and oriental theme.
Footlocker is a must for those trainers to bring home along with Rockport and Sketcher.
Clothes wise the usual favourites are there such as Gap, Guess, Abercrombie & Fitch and my husbands favourite Tommy’s Island which retail the infamous Tommy Bahamas wears. Not cheap but really unusual and excellent quality.
There is a wonderful food court, which offers a wide variety of foods from across the world along with more formal restaurants.
The Salsa Taqueria & Tequila bar is always nice for a pit stop, maybe a beer and a Fajita to stem the hunger pangs, it offers a variety of authentic Mexican food and is always on our list.
Our other favourite is Buca Di Beppo which is really a must do, it offers authentic Italian food at it’s best and it is always our last stop on the way back to the airport before travelling home, just to pick up the last few bit’s from the Mall and a lovely meal at Buca Di Beppo’s and it does not get much better than this.
The carpark is huge so never difficult to park and the only tip here is to remember exactly where you park.
The Florida mall is a must try and really worth a trip here the next time you are in Florida and once visited I am sure it will become one of your favourites too.
