Ellies first visit to Florida, day 4
We were up and ready today and left the villa about 8. 30 in the morning, I was feeling very tired! !
Today was the day we were spending at Sea World, I was really looking forward to it, especially the Shamu show! !
When we arrived, we saw the Sting Rays, we could buy food and feed them, we were also able to touch them, as they played in the water. Chloe fed them with fish, I didn’t, preferring to keep my hands out of the water! ! Our next stop was the dolphins, here we were able to buy food and feed them. They were really playful, and couldn’t wait to take the food out of our hands. They made squeaky noises almost soaked us.
Our next visit was the dolphin show, called Blue Horizons. What a fantastic show. They had dolphins, which included 2 black ones, parrots, a vulture and lots of swimmers and acrobats. The story was about a connection between the land and sea, and that everything is connected, the birds represented the land, and the dolphins represented the sea. The actors/swimmers wore colourful cat suits, they were diving into the water, and swimming with the dolphins, it was absolutely amazing.
The next show we went to was a show that included 2 sea lions called Clyde and Seamore, they were so much fun, very obedient and very talented. It was amazing how the trainer interacted with the sea lions and how they could work together as a team. The story was about a ship becoming marooned on an Island, and the pirates finding people on the island, I. e. one of the sea lions and trainer. They had us in stitches, especially the otter, he was so funny! !
The next show was I think the best one for me, it was called Believe with Shamu, it completely took my breath away, and how he could swim up to 30 mph and carry out all the tricks he was able to perform. At a size of 3000lbs he was able to swim with his trainers and not hurt them. We were also sat in the Soak Zone, but never got wet! ! There was also a part in the pool where he was able to swim on to in order for us to see how really big he was. Again, this was another story, about a young boy who fell in love with a whale, and grew up to be a vet, and look after Shamu.
This was a really long day and we saw lots, I was glad to get back to the villa and get in the pool! !
