Choosing a holiday location

If you are just about to plan your next holiday and are considering where your destination should be then why not consider Florida.

Florida has something for everybody. If you want to keep both children and yourself entertained then there is nowhere else in the world like the Theme Parks that Florida has to offer. Whatever your age you will certainly find the parks a magical playground and good value for money. Rides, parades, firework displays and other attractions provide an experience that is not only unique but if you are like us, will make you want to return again and again.

There are so many other places to visit if you make Orlando your base. Both the Atlantic and the Gulf Coast are within easy reach. Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach on the east coast and St Pete’s and Sarasota on the west are popular places to visit to soak up the glorious Florida sun. The east coast also offers the opportunity to visit Space Kennedy if you are interested in space travel. You might even be fortunate enough to see a shuttle launch.

Or you could decide to travel a little further, perhaps south to Fort Lauderdale or north to St Augustine which are both worth a visit. Stop over a couple of days so you have time to investigate the local attractions. Another alternative would be to spend one week in two different locations. Florida has so many places to visit both down the east and west coast and of course there are the Keys.

Kissimmee Old Town at night should also be on your list of places to visit. If you go on a Thursday you will see the motorbike cruise and Saturday the classic car cruise. The shops and restaurants stay open late and there are also rides to entertain any children in your party.

If you are a golfer then Florida has some of the best golf courses in the world. There are numerous courses, and the main problem will be deciding which one to choose.

A holiday in Florida would not be complete without a visit to the shops. Florida is a shopper’s paradise with clothes, shoes, jewellery, household goods etc. well below UK prices. Outlets and Malls offer a vast range of shops which open into the evening.

You will be spoilt for choice when it comes to eating out. Florida offers numerous restaurants and eating places that suit everybody’s pocket. Portions are large and all offer good value for money.

The weather is obviously an important consideration for many people when deciding on a holiday location. Florida offers plenty of sunshine after all it’s known as the ‘sunshine state’. The hottest months tend to be July and August but sunshine is in abundance all year round. Although the weather can not be guaranteed average temperatures during the day usually remain above 70, with many months being in the 80’s.

Should I choose Florida for my next holiday? My answer would definitely be yes but book early to guarantee the best flight prices and choice of villa.
