Be Prepared..what to wear to the parks
“Be prepared…what to wear to the Parks!”
Easy you would have thought, just put on my normal clothes and off we go. Well you can do that, but you will only learn that you can be better prepared. Read the following and see which suggestions just might make your trip around the theme park more comfortable.
To fully appreciate a Park you need to spend the whole day there. There are often different shows happening at different times of the day and you certainly don’t want to miss out. With the thought that you will be there all day you need to plan a little about what you might need with you. If you were to put all those things out in a pile now you would wonder how on you going to manage to carry everything. Giant rucksack maybe but that’s hardly fun to carry around the park and you won’t be let on the rides with it either!
Let’s start with what to wear on your feet. You will be standing a lot of the time so really comfortable shoes are a must. The best for the parks seems to be trainers/sneakers but don’t get new ones as they need to be worn in a little to ensure comfort. As for your legs, trousers/pants with zip off legs are a great way to deal with the fresh mornings, warm days and cool evenings. Make sure you get a pair with plenty of pockets, zip up pockets are best as nothing can then fall out when you are on the rides! On your upper body you need thin layers so that you can adjust as the temperature changes. So try a short sleeved top and maybe then a light jacket or fleece with long sleeves. Your head needs a hat too, a peaked baseball cap is ideal as it helps to protect your eyes from the sun. Its fun to buy these in the park as a memento, there is always a huge selection.
Now once you have put this lot on you will realise that you look just like a lot of other people in the parks, and that is for good reason, they know this style of clothing is best.
All you need now to complete your outfit is something for when it rains! Don’t bring anything with you, all the parks sell a lightweight poncho that’s folds up really small. It’s quite a spectacle when it does rain to see thousands of visitors all dressed in the same colour poncho and you won’t want to feel left out!
In “Be prepared… what to take to the parks!” we will look at the accessories to make your day even more successful.
