Mini Golf at Universal.
Did you know that there is mini golf at Universal? well, there is!
This new facility has opened under the escalators and has 2 themed courses to choose from (or you can play both for a discounted price) Naturally, the themimg for both of these courses are based on what Universal is famous for: the movies.
One is called The Haunting of Ghostly Green and the other is Invaders from Planet Putt.
Of course, since this is Universal this is an immersive experience that calls on all their illustrious experience to make it as bright, brash and imaginative as it is possible to be.
The Haunting of Ghostly Green is packed with gravestones, spiders and coffins not to mention body shaped bumps in the earth and feet sticking out of the ground.
They have let their imaginations go wild without being so spooky that your little ones will run away screaming.
Now on to Invaders from Planet Put and here the imagineers have used every special effect in the book.
Crop Circles have been in the news in England for the last couple of decades and they have even made their way here! The penultimate hole has an alien landing area and they have saved the best til last with a huge robot who sets about using lasers to blow apart a building.
The holes seem somewhat large so the children do not get too frustrated and each hole marker has a jokey message so take time to read them out. The space themed course is the best one to play though I concede that it may be a matter of opinion.
The best time to go is indisputably after dark when their sensational lighting comes into play. You can also park for free at Universal in the evening as well; no small consideration when it is $15 a pop these days.
And finally we come down to the nitty gritty; what will it cost you. Firstly, it is not included in your entrance ticket and you do not have to enter the park to play.
Children are charged $11. 99 and adults $13. 99. Play both courses and the cost is $24. 99 for grown ups and $20. 99 for little ones.
Annual Pass Holders get a rather miserly 10% off this price.
Now you may think this is a tad expensive and indeed, it is the most expensive course in the Orlando area (Disney included) but it is the best.
This mini golf is open from 10 a. m. to 2 a. m. every day of the week
