Our recent trip to the Cheesecake Factory June 2007
The Cheese Cake factory is a favourite in our house hold so every trip we try to visit at least once. We have visited a few different locations, but normally we go to the branch at the Mall of Millennia as it is an excuse to go shopping too!
Last month we had some family visit, Mum and Dad and neither had never been to the US before so they were pretty blown away by the place and food standard in general and could not get over the portion sizes…. they should have come ten years ago, now that was a big portion! Anyway I digress! Mum and Dad had wanted to visit the Cheese Cake Factory to see what all the fuss was about and why we could not usually manage to eat any cheese cake as we were too full in a place called the Cheese Cake Factory!
We arrived midweek around 7 pm which is a good time to visit as it can be a little busy during the day during holidays and definitely at weekends, however they give you a pager on arrival and when your table is ready they ring it and seat you within a few moments. The most we have had to wait was about 45 minutes and that was on Xmas Eve a couple of years back. This particular night we were shown straight to our table and we requested a booth which we got no problem. The menu is huge but we are creatures of habit and tend to stick to the same three of four dishes so it would be interesting to see what Mum and Dad choose.
We choose the Shepherd pie and meat loaf as normal as it is hard to stay away from this type of home cooking as it is so good. Mum chose a Pork dish and Dad a steak. Dinner was washed down with cocktails and beer all round, they have a great choice.
Empty (just) plates later it was time for the cheese cake menu, now did anyone have room for any cheese cake…nope you have guessed it we were too full and now the mystery of why we did not have cheese cake at The Cheesecake Factory was solved. So we took a slice of Key Lime Pie and a slice of the Chocolate Fudge Tower cake home for later and then spent the next two days trying to eat it all.
If you have not been to the Cheese Cake Factory you must put it on your list of things to do next visit, you will not be disappointed.
