Golf Lesson at the Champions Gate David Leadbetter Golf Academy-1 Hour Private Lesson
Located at Champions Gate in Orlando the David Leadbetter Golf Academy is a brilliant academy where you can learn from some of the best golf instructors in the world. There is a wide range of programs for both juniors and adults alike and all abilities are catered for. Lessons range from private 1-hour lessons, the lesson featured, costing $225 to 3 day retreats costing $3000. There are also programs pacifically designed for ladies, men and juniors as well as putting lessons and short game lessons. If lucky you also might be able to spot a tour professional working with David Leadbetter at the range. There is also a David Leadbetter golfing academy in Naples Florida if that is nearer.
After booking in at reception you catch a shuttle to the teaching range. Once there you receive a complimentary bucket of range balls to warm up with. After that you meet your personal teaching professional who records your swing on a video camera from a variety of different angles. Your instructor then takes you into one of the many teaching rooms and sets up your swing analysis on a computer screen. From there the teacher assesses your swing and highlights good points in it and areas of it that need improvement. The teacher then brings up a top tour professional on the screen next to you and runs through both swings allowing you to identify areas that differ from the pros and how you can learn from them. Next the instructor talks about how to improve your swing and you then go back onto the range and using varying instruction equipment implicate these changes. After this the instructor once again films your new swing from varying angles.
Finally you return to the teaching room and compare your new swing to your old swing and discuss how the changes will help your game. To finish the instructor gives you the DVD of your lesson and gives you a precise instruction plan to use in the future to improve your game.
Overall, I really enjoyed my lesson at the academy and feel that it has really improved my game dropping from shooting low 90s to the low 80s in the past 6 months. I would really recommend the academy for anyone looking to improve their game and the facilities are fantastic. Well worth the money and well recommended.
