Restaurant Review - Bahama Breeze
One of our favourite places to eat in Florida is at the Bahama Breeze. There is one restaurant on International Drive and the other one is just off exit 68 of the I4, on the road that leads to Premium Outlets. There is free valet parking at the Premium Outlets restaurant which is a real treat.
As you walk in the restaurant, you really feel that you are in a tropical place in the Carribean! From the décor that includes palm leaf fans and cane furniture, plus lots of palm trees and tropical plants, right through to the floral shirts worn by waiting staff. You can almost hear the surf lapping on the shore!
Although you can’t book ahead, that's not a problem, because there are some relaxing sofas to sit in whilst waiting inside the restaurant and you can order drinks or appetisers before you are called to your table. Alternatively, you can sit outside in the open air bar, sip a cocktail or two and listen to the live music provided. You'll have had a great time even before you sit down to your meal!
The food is absolutely delicious. Lots of choices between seafood, pasta, salads, chicken, beef and pork and the appetisers are enormous. Try the huge pile of battered onion rings or the spicy West Indies patties – these appetisers are definitely made for sharing!
They vary the menu regularly, so you always know you can try something new, but they also keep some of their favourites. And the portion sizes are huge on all courses as you would expect. We’ve been for lunch and for dinner and both are equally mouth watering. We definitely couldn’t manage lunch and dinner on the same day though!
One of my favourite dishes is the Chicken Cobb Salad but we would also recommend the lobster and shrimp pasta, the coconut shrimp and the fresh Ahi tuna. They do great ribs and steaks and the kabobs (chicken, beef or pork) are really tasty.
And if you still haven’t had your fill of the appetisers and lunch or dinner courses, they serve fabulous desserts too – Rebecca’s Key Lime pie, and the (very large) chocolate island to name just a couple.
They do a great range of cocktails and beers and, if you’re driving, they serve some fabulous soft drinks – their Lemon Breeze is the best lemonade I have ever tasted!
We never miss eating at Bahama Breeze when we visit Florida and would strongly recommend that you give it a try yourselves.
