Xmas at Manny's Chophouse
Our latest trip to Manny’s Chophouse turned into a pre Xmas meal/celebratory Anniversary dinner for some close friends of ours. We were a party of ten, so were prepared for a bit of a wait for a table, especially as when we arrive at 7:30pm and there were lots of people waiting. You expect this and to be honest the food is worth the wait. We were really presently surprised when we walked in and after only two or three minutes we were shown to a table, to this day I think there was another party of ten outside thinking gosh where is our table but as the saying goes, never look a gift horse in the mouth!
We had a round table in the middle of the restaurant and set about deciding on what to have for dinner. The majority of the party had never visited the restaurant before and were there maybe on our recommendation so we were hopeful it would be a good evening. Strawberry Cocktails and large and I a mean large, infact almost jugs of beers for the boys in the party and we then set about tucking into the bread rolls and cinnamon butter, (which I love but it is like Marmite, you either love it or hate it, the majority of the party finding it too sweet)! Next came the bottomless salad bowl, this is my favorite part of going to Manny’s for dinner. Lots of nice ingredients and the waitress will toss the salad for you and dish it up. It is dressed with Ranch dressing which is yummy. For the hot food lover there are a number of Jalapeño peppers in the salad but these are easily identifiable so you needn’t munch on one by accident. Nice homemade croutons finish the salad of nicely.
Next came the starters, a few of the guys were happy with the salad but some of us had the delicious French onion soup which is a must for us on our trips to Manny’s. Mozerello sticks were the other popular starter choice.
Then came the main courses. Steaks seemed to be the order of the evening. Filet Mignon with blue cheese was my choice and most of the others had the Filet Mignon or New York strip, Garlic mash, mushrooms and onions were also in abundance! Nobody had room for dessert and we left Manny’s two hours later tired and full!!
If you arrive at Manny’s after 8:30pm it is possible you may be able to walk in and sit straight down as it does start to settle down around that time, although Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday is a bit manic as they have special deals but the dining experience is worth the wait, good, tasty Southern cooking!.
