What to do with different age children at Universal Studios - part 2
On your second Day, start at Universal Studios and again split up and meet at lunch time to swap over. But first, both children will love Shrek the 4D movie. (So will the adults). Our toddler squealed with delight when the seats moved when Shrek and Fiona’s carriage moved. The toddler will love E. T. , even though he/she will never have heard of him before, it is just delightful.
Woody Woodpecker’s KidZone is a magical area for the toddler. There is a Day in the Park with Barney, a singing and clap along show for the little ones, Animal Actors, (mentioned in part one), Curious George goes to Town, a story book water play area and another Fievels Playland like the one in Island of Adventures.
For the older child, The Revenge of the Mummy ride is awesome! I have never been backwards on a roller coaster before, it is amazing and so different. If they have seen the movie they will recognise the scarabs and snakes and lots more. There is also a great photo opportunity which is taken at the end of the ride when you will be screaming. , so the photos are not always flattering!
The Terminator is one of my favourites, but then I have seen all the movies, but even if you have not seen it, it is a great show and very realistic. The Horror Make-up show will really appeal to older boys as it is so gruesome but so very funny too. It is also a time for a rest too.
Men in Black is a firm favourite with the older children too. You shoot aliens from a moving spinning car and score points to be the best of two cars to win the most points.
There is a brand new Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit and the new Despicable Me Minion Mayhem Ride and the Simpson’s Ride – Crash Through Krustyland.
An old favourite, Disaster, the movie starring you is still very popular and has been updated a bit in the last. Twister is still alive and well and still amusing people with its rather naff performance, but children still enjoy it. Transformers: The Ride in 3D prepare for their greatest battle ever. If you are lucky you will see them wandering around the park jumping out and being photographed with people.
Near the end of the day you can then take the Hogwarts train back to Island of Adventure. This is a different journey from the one going to Universal Studios, and of course, all children love train rides, especially if they can crash through walls on the platform!
