What is happening at Seaworld.
Well, what is happening at the parks in the Seaworld group?
Seaworld is a theme park in the Orlando area that is often overlooked by holiday makers in favour of those 2 monoliths, Disney and Universal.
However, many of my guests tell me that it is their favourite day out so I do urge you to try it out if you have not done so already.
And from 2012 it seems that we will have yet more reasons to visit this stunning park.
Among the new ideas in the planning is a rain forest trail in Discovery Cove. This will encompass a freshwater pool and possibly some primates (yipee, my favourites)
Discovery Cove is Seaworld' s sister park that offers a dolphin encounter and swimming through water falls with sting rays.
Discovery Cove may be the most expensive park to visit but your entrance fee incudes breakfast, lunch, snacks and all drinks. It is wise to book well in advance.
The penguin exhibit is now creeping towards its silver anniversary and it is planned to update this exhibit and also add an Antarctica ride.
The manatee display area will have a new film offering. This will feature turtles and tell you al you want to know about these fascinating creatures.
As I write there are Seaworld executives meeting with Orange County officials so lets hope that all thses exciting possibilities go ahead.
In addition to this tantalising news there are a couple of upcoming events to put in your diary.
First to kick off will be Seaworld' s 2011 Christmas celebrations.
This will feature an ice rink with whirling ice skaters and brightly lit trees. Of course Santa will be making a visit with his trusty elves and all the while carols will be playing throughout the park.
Hard on the heels of Christmas comes New Year and Seaworld will be hosting a musical performance and the evening will round off with a spectacular firework display.
For these special occasion dates Seaworld and Busch Gardens are often a better choice than Disney or Universal as the latter two get very crowded.
