West Coast Beaches From Cleartwater Beach Heading South
From Clearwater Beach in the north to Pas de Grille beach 28 miles south , you have 26 miles of un batted gorgeous beaches to enjoy situated on the lovely warm waters of the gulf of Mexico
I have already left a topic on Clearwater beach so will not duplicate the item.
As you leave Clearwater Beach and head south you first hit Sand Key, only a mile from Clearwater Beach.
I like this beach very much , the beach stretches our for 400 yards to the water edge , lovely sand , it is clean , not too busy , you have showers, changing facilities all at hand , recommended , but you have to pay for parking . Lots of weddings take place here at the weekend on the beach .
Onto Bellair Beach
A narrow strip of beach maybe only 20ft wide , no facilities , and even though there are parking areas to gain access to the beach these are only for local residents who must show a pass , and the police do check up for anyone not having a beach parking pass as I found out . The local authority does not encourage tourists by not having local parking , not tourist friendly.
Onto Indian Rocks Beach , a great beach for families , just sand and sun and the sea, totally un commercialized and a great place to spend the day . Lots of local shops and restraunts only yards from the beach. Very popular with locals which is always a good sign.
Onto Indian Shores, Reddington Beach ( which has a fishing pier) , Maderia Beach, Treasure Island , St Pete Beach , the list of beaches goes on and on and on.
The good thing is there is a trolley bus that will take you the length of the island for a day pass of $4. 50 a day , get on and off wherever you like .
Lots of beachy type places to eat , unpretentious , but there are a few high end restraunt' s if you want to dress up .
Both South and North of Clearwater Beach are milessssssssssssssssssssssssssss of beaches , you are totally spoilt for choice .
In my opinion the west coast beaches are better than the east coast beaches , the sea not nearly as rough but it is only my preference .
Come and Enjoy the many great beaches of Florida , you will not regret it
