Florida Guide > Planning your Trip
So you want to go to Florida ?
Decision made ! Planning your once in a lifetime holiday makes a lot of sense. If you plan it all you will get so much more out of it, right from when you make your decision to go sit down with the family members and make a wish list. Now you can start, the first question is where to stay ? We are obviously a bit biased but a villa is the only accommodation we could ever use now, you have the freedom of a whole house instead of being cramped up in a hotel room ! And your very own pool ! Where? Well most people like to be close to Disney, Mickey has been the reason for most people visit to Orlando for years and although there is much more than that to see and do that’s a great place to start and before the adults say “Mickey mouse is for the kids “you are very wrong, Disney brings the child out in us all, believe me!!
What size villa do you need? They start with 3 bedrooms and go up to 7 so depending if it is just Mum, Dad and a couple of children or a large family party , or a group of friends, even the 3 beds have no less than two bathrooms and the larger ones have sometimes 3 or 4 en suite bedrooms and more besides ! All are very spacious and most have their own pool.
There are lots of communities around and most of them are within a 10 - 15 minute drive away, Magic!! All of them are really nice and offer different things, ours is a gated community , which often makes people feel a bit easier if it is their first visit but all the communities are very well lit and also have residents on them making them all a great place to base your holiday. Most have a communal pool, play area and ours even has tennis courts.
It is easier if you book any tickets you want before you go, one less thing to worry about while you are there, sit and discuss which of the parks you want to visit and work out how many days it will take, it is nice to spent some days just chilling out by the pool as well as doing the parks as they can be quite exhausting for the youngsters (and the oldies!)
Disney is a must , there are 4 parks, Magic kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot and Hollywood Studios all of them open at various times and have different shows and parades during the day so check those before you go ( most villa owners have this information in the house for you to look at )
Then there is Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Seaworld, Busch gardens, Cypress gardens, water parks, the list is endless. But what about the shopping I hear Mum saying? There are several Malls and shopping outlets, don’t forget this is where the saying “ shop til you drop “ came from , so take plenty of spending money for all those bargains.
You won’t probably be able to do all you want to in one trip that is why most people keep going back, there is always somewhere else to visit and more things to do, that reminds me when we go next time I must visit ………….
